After our outstanding birthday lunch for CK at Reata, we decided to walk around to burn off a little lunch and found Santa and his elves set up on the next block, so we stood in line for another attempt at visiting the big guy. When asked, Sofia agreed that she needed another chance to tell him what she wanted and I explained that she could sit on my lap next to Santa, since he was sitting in a sleigh. Once we made it up to Santa, she was a champ! She decided to sit on my lap and fell into giggles and covered her eyes when Santa started talking to her. She was obviously very taken with him, but just couldn't bring herself to look straight at him or respond to his questions. Although he asked her several times what she wanted for Christmas, Sofia couldn't stop giggling, so I ended up telling him that she wants a school bus.
While walking back to the car, Sofia asked Mimi in a somewhat sad voice where her school bus was....so glad Mimi got to explain that to our little girl!
