This afternoon the girls dyed Easter eggs. It ended up being a pleasant and perfect day out and after Olivia's soccer game in Fort Worth and Sofia's haircut, the girls jumped on the trampoline for a while and then enjoyed dying 18 eggs each. Of course, they each ate one hard boiled egg before they started, but then they had fun picking the perfect color for each egg. Olivia tried to make the perfect purple while Sofia focused on trying to do a pastel palette on several eggs. They all turned out beautifully and the girls had a hard time deciding which one they liked best. Also, Olivia was basically done with her carton of eggs and Sofia still had over half of hers to dye, but they both enjoyed it and then decided to make their Easter Peeps large cookie with Grandma.
One Easter we were all together, the girls and their Grandma made a Peeps cookie and Sofia loved it and specifically requested it once she found out Grandpa and Grandma would be arriving on Friday to spend Easter and the week with us. I went to the grocery store on Friday morning to buy the ingredients and they were completely sold out of Peeps, so I ended up going to CVS where they still had a good supply.
Grandma and Grandpa had brought a cake plate for us as a happy Easter gift, which was perfect for their Peeps cookie! They made and baked the huge cookie and let it cool for an hour before decorating it. It really turned out so cute and ended up being pretty yummy too! Love that it is a little tradition that they have and enjoy together!
