Sofia's First Haircut

On Saturday we finally did it - well, I finally did it. Papa literally couldn't watch his girl's curls fall to the floor at Pigtails & Crewcuts Hair Cuttery. After much convincing on my part, we agreed that Sofia could really use a decent haircut to even out her short, straight side hair with the longer, curly hair down her back. I've been trimming her bangs for some time, but decided to let it grow out so that a professional could do the job.

Once we arrived at Sofia's 1145am hair appointment at Pigtails & Crewcuts, she had her pick of seats between an airplane, taxi and fire truck. Not surprisingly, she picked the airplane! She sat there like a champ while playing with a Thomas train and eating a sucker. They also had some sort of dog Santa movie, but she wasn't particularly interested in watching it, much to the chagrin of the hair stylist who wanted her to look forward at the tv. But, she did a great job and didn't squirm too much. We took about an inch off the back and evened out the sides so they flow into the back section a little better. To top off the haircut, the hair stylist added glitter spray to her hair (and her hands) which Sofia thought was the best part!

After she got down she played with the train set for a while before picking out her "First Time Hair Cut" treat from a big treasure chest. She decided on a plastic boat. So, our girl is styling a cute cut that still works great in a pony or pigtails, and I'm convinced my bang trimming isn't half bad!

All finished!

A view from the back - the curls are still there!

After the haircut, we went Christmas tree shopping, but didn't find one we liked.....but I do like this picture!
