Our last day in New Orleans, Sofia and I headed back to Cafe Du Monde for a cafe au lait (I couldn't resist!) and one order of beignets, but we got them to go. We looked for Shine, but didn't see him.... We took our coffee, chocolate milk and beignets to Jackson Square where Sofia ran around between bites and I enjoyed my Cafe au lait. After, we headed back to Canal Street and got onto the trolley headed for City Park. We met a man at the trolley stop the day before who recommended City Park and especially Storyland. City Park was great - it was a HUGE park with the Museum of Art in the middle, and had a great Sculpture Garden and play areas everywhere. We walked through the Sculpture Garden and Sofia loved seeing the "Blue Dog" sculpture.
We then made our way to Storyland and Sofia had a ball running around to each area. She particularly liked the dragon slide, which was very steep, but she did it by herself each time and loved using her feet on the side of the slide to slow down at the bottom. After spending awhile at Storyland, we headed back to the hotel where we met CK, had lunch and headed to the airport. We can't wait to visit New Orleans again!
Another view from our hotel room - the Mississippi River
Sofia's favorite - a trolley (they call them streetcars in New Orleans, I realized)
Although abandoned, what a great theater!
