Happy Thanksgiving!!

We arrived at Mike and Chris' beautiful house and were amazed, as always, by their stunning view! We've been to their house several times and yet their view always takes my breath away! It's just stunning!

It was great to see Mike and Chris again and hear how they are getting along. They had a 22 lb turkey in the oven and seemed to have everything completely under control. In fact, it felt like we were guests at a regular night's dinner! We took some pictures while the light was still good and got some decent family pictures. The girls loved all the little wind-up toys Mike and Chris keep on their coffee table (something I've replicated in our house since our first visit). Olivia particularly liked the gorilla that slowly walked across the table and Sofia played with their little plastic donkey (which happened to be a silly gift from one of their friends on election night). Chris also built a fire and both girls were fascinated by the process with Sofia trying to help as much as she could.

Soon we were jointed by two other couples who happened to be neighbors and were very friendly and interesting people. Mike, Uncle Steve and CK carved the turkey and Uncle Steve made gravy and we were sitting down to eat before we knew it.

We had a great meal and the food was amazing! Mike and Chris don't have a highchair so I held Olivia on my lap during the meal and she was happy to try everything, as usual. She really loved the stuffing!

Uncle Steve's desserts turned out perfect and I tried a little slice of each. I think the chocolate lemon meringue was my favorite, although it was a very hard decision. It was becoming a late night and the girls held together very well. After helping to clean up (and packaging some delicious leftovers) we headed for our casita and bed. What a fun Thanksgiving and I feel like I have so much to be thankful for and am lucky to be surrounded by those I love most.

The turkey was so big that we had a lot of leftovers - it was delicious and very moist!

Aunt and Uncle! Aunt Shirl didn't feel well but really did a great job at being social and acting like she felt fine.

The beautiful pies!

Happy Thanksgiving!
