Miss Lee in Leesville!

On Saturday morning CK flew us to Leesville, Louisiana, to visit our good friends Mike and Bahareh at Mike's parents' house. The flight was uneventful and very quick - a little over an hour (I think I need a geography lesson because I certainly never thought we were so close to Louisiana!) Sofia napped for about 40 minutes of the flight which was good because she ended up not getting any more sleep until 10pm that night!

After we arrived, Mike gave us a tour of his home town and showed us the land that was originally his family's dairy farm and the large area they still own. Once we got to Mike's parent's home Bahareh gave Sofia her first ever Minnie Mouse! She instantly fell in love, especially with her cool ears and tail! She has since slept with Minnie Mouse (and Green Beup Beup, Stripped Green Beup Beup, and Elmo) every night! Then we ate crawfish etoufee for lunch which was made by Mike's Mom, Karen. It was delicious!! It was my first etoufee and it was wonderful! Sofia also ate a lot of it, along with bread. After lunch we caught up a while before heading to the Leesville Fair and Rodeo.

After lunch Bahareh, Sofia and I took a walk to the catfish pond Mike fished from when he was growing up, which is behind his Grandma's house.
