Off to Disneyland!

Yesterday, I picked Olivia up from school and we went directly to DFW so we could fly to California and spend the next 3 days at Disneyland! Last year over the same four day weekend I took Sofia to Disneyland for her first visit and now it was Olivia's turn. We decided to take the girls separately since neither CK or I are crowd-loving people, and since both girls have such dramatically different interests, we thought they would best enjoy a visit doing what each of them wanted. I do know they would love to go together too, though!

I parked at school early so I could pick up Olivia immediately and head to the airport. We arrived with just an hour before take off, checked our bags and made it to our gate. Of course, we first had to stop and pick out "snacks" which mainly consisted of candy. We picked out gummy bears and a nice bar of chocolate. Just before boarding, they announced our flight would be delayed for an hour, which gave us a chance to eat dinner at TGI Fridays, which was right next to our gate. It was actually a good break and we were both glad we'd eaten by the time we got on the airplane. We got into our seats and were excited to see that each seat had their own movie screen! Olivia and I put on our headphones and she watched The Incredibles movie during our flight to John Wayne Airport. The flight was easy and went by quickly.

We landed at 7pm and took a taxi to our hotel, the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel. On our 20 minute taxi ride, Olivia was falling asleep and I had to hold her upright so she wouldn't fall over. Originally I'd reserved a room that had a queen-sized bed that included a "castle" bunk bed, but asked if they could change it to just a king bed, since I figured Olivia would want to sleep with me. Unfortunately they didn't have such a room available, so we dragged our suitcase to our room. Along the way, Olivia stopped and read the story about Princess Corinne and Shadow, the Snow Dragon. She loved the story and wanted to meet Princess Corinne and find the dragon.

Once inside the room, Olivia fell in LOVE with the castle bunk bed! It was really super cute too! She decided she planned to sleep in the top bunk. We changed into our pjs and were in bed and asleep by 9pm (11pm our time)! We can't wait for our adventure to begin!

At the airport and ready to go!

We made it on the plane!
