Santa Fe Fun

Saturday was our last full day in Santa Fe since we planned to leave Sunday morning for Texas. We decided to keep it simple and relax. We ate over at Aunt Shirl and Uncle Steve's again - pancakes! Of course the girls loved it -it's their absolute favorite breakfast meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and talked. The entire visit has included just perfect weather! It is actually pretty cool in the evening and gets into the mid-80s and has just been wonderful. I a great change from Texas, although we've only had one 100-degree day, which is amazing for Texas. While we talked Sofia and Olivia played on the patio. Olivia played with the cat and Sofia played with the little lego horse and rider that our neighbor gave her. She would dig a little hole in the sand between the joints and make up stories about the horse and rider and then they would ride to their barn which was really the candle holder. She had a great time!

Finally, we headed over to our casita so Aunt and Uncle could get things done before they head out early tomorrow morning and so the girls could play some more. Later we grabbed lunch at Bumble Bee and then dropped CK and Olivia off at the casita so she could nap. Sofia and I headed to the Santa Fe Children's Museum which we didn't make it to last year but the year before. I remember her really loving it and this time was no different.

We started inside and she played in the kitchen, painted her face, was in a made-it-up-as-you-go play with a few other kids (overseen by one of the young workers), played in the water diversion area, made structures and cars with the magnates, played with the big bubbles and loved every minute of it. We did make it outside and stopped at the sand box, where she played for the rest of our visit. Two of the girls who were in the play came out and the three of them had a grand time!

We headed back to our casita, where Olivia had enjoyed a lovely nap and then walked over to Uncle and Aunt's for our final meal together. We enjoyed leftovers, including that excellent pie, and gave hugs and kisses since they were planning to leave at 6am. It was such a fun visit as always and we really packed a lot in!

The next day, we finished packing our stuff, loaded the car and headed to the Plaza around 9am. We planned to eat at Pascual's for breakfast but the wait was over an hour! Yikes! We walked up to the Plaza Cafe, which was closed due to a fire last year but is now open and was half full. We had a delicious 'last' meal in Santa Fe before heading to the airport and heading home in the Baron. What a fun few days!
