Sofia and I planted our spring garden a few weeks ago, tempting fate really since last year we had our last freeze (complete with a little snow) on the first day of Spring. So far, we had one night below freezing since planting but covered all of the veggies, and only had to replace one tomato plant. Also, CK moved our Satsuma tangerine tree and Meyer lemon tree out of the garage and back onto our patio. Both trees were looking pretty dismal in the garage during the winter, but they are both looking very happy and ready to bloom now. In the garden, we planted one heirloom tomato, squash, bell pepper, broccoli, peas, radishes, carrots, and beets. We also planted three raspberry bushes that I hope take and produce lots of fruit. In pots on the patio, we planted several strawberries and two patio tomatoes as well as basil and thyme. Our mint is coming back from last year and we are looking forward to some delicious veggies (hopefully)!
Sofia and the first strawberry! It probably could have used another day on the vine, but was good.
Checking on our patio tomatoes
Checking on the peas....they grow so fast, it's amazing!
