So, I'm a little behind on blogging.....On Saturday April 24th, Sofia and I went to Art in the Square in Southlake with our friend Thelma and Isabella. The festival was primarily a venue to sell art, but it was a beautiful day and we decided to walk around and enjoy some of the kid-friendly events. First, we went to the pavilion for a story time put on by Barnes and Noble. When we arrived Curious George was there visiting with kids. Without a pause, Sofia ran over to hug Curious George and stood right in front of him as much as she could (I had to move her aside when other parents wanted to take pictures). Then Skippyjon Jones showed up and Sofia was the first to give him a hug (and nearly caused him to fall since he didn't see her). We don't have any Skippyjon Jones books, so it was interesting to see that she was just as interested in giving him a hug. Personally I've never been a fan of those costumed characters, but obviously Sofia has no problems!
The woman who would read the stories then lead Curious George and Skippyjon Jones up onto the small stage to begin the storytime, and Sofia marched right behind them and was about to get onto the stage with them. The reader started with a Skippyjon Jones book and Sofia spent the entire time waving and blowing kisses to Curious George (he reciprocated). The story seemed to go on forever and Skippyjon Jones wasn't very interesting so we decided to head to the bounce house area. The girls loved it! They bounced like crazy in the bounce house, went on the climbing bounce house and then decided to go on the bungy bounce! I couldn't believe how little Sofia was in the harness and how brave she was, but she loved it!!!
