Nearly every morning we would take a canoe trip which was really lovely. We'd leave the Bent Hook Marina and head toward Devil's Pool and the very end of the lake back in the trees. Along the way, we saw countless turtles sunning themselves, watched fish jump out of the water to eat some sort of bug, saw way too many snakes for our comfort, and listened to and watched frogs in the boggy area. It was such a wonderful way to start of the day and Sofia loved every minute of it. Of course, she wanted the oar so she could row, but that usually didn't turn out to well (she didn't drop it in the water, luckily). She also wanted to get on the shore, so we'd let her out a few times - she particularly loved getting in and out of the canoe. Otherwise, we just enjoyed being in nature and listening to all those wonderful animal sounds that you don't often stop and listen to.
