At the Beach

I woke up and took Buddy for a exploratory walk. The condo has a great dog walking path with poop bags and it's obviously very dog-friendly. Once again, the elevator was scary to Buddy but I was able to coax him and and pet him as we went down to the ground floor. Once the doors opened, he went outside and acted like nothing unusual happened. I tried to have him go down the stairs instead, and that was even more of a disaster. We saw several dogs on our walk and would see them over the week we were there. After a good walk to familiarize ourselves with the area, I took him over to the walkway that leads to the beach. He made it to the end were there are stairs or a ramp to get down to the sand and he wasn't going to budge. He didn't want to go, so I sat down for a few minutes and pet him. In that time, another little dog walked right past us with his owners and went onto the sand. I tried again and Buddy was fine with going down the stairs and walking on the beach. Crazy dog.

Once we made it down to the beach, Buddy walked along like he'd walked along the beach every morning of his life! I returned to make a pot of coffee and sit out on our deck overlooking the golf course and beach, while CK slept. We ended up eating lunch at the little grill down by the pool and it was pretty good. From there, we decided to go to the "quiet pool" since we were kidless. It's a really beautiful pool with a view of the ocean and we weren't there 10 minutes before it started raining. We actually didn't have any towels with us, so we grabbed our things and returned to the condo. I ended up watching cooking shows and just relaxing while CK worked and made calls. At one point, I headed to Publix and rented a few movies and bought two beach towels, which actually ended up being the worst quality ever and we returned them later and used CK and Connie's towels they brought the next day.

For dinner we tried JT's, a little seafood place not far from our condo. It was actually pretty nice to sit outside, but we ultimately decided to sit inside and eat. I ordered the crab cakes and CK ordered the fried shrimp, both of which were delicious. We retuned to the condo to watch The Accountant, which was actually really good. After the movie, we went to bed ready to see our girls the next day.
