Fun Weekend With Friends

This weekend we had a great time and visit with DC friends Forrest, Catherine, her French husband Frederic, and their daughter Annalise. CK has known the three of them for years and has traveled to Europe years ago together and had a great time. I've only met Catherine and Frederic once just after CK and I were married. Forrest is a dear friend of CK's and someone who I always love spending time with. I wish he lived nearby so we could see him more regularly. Sofia and Olivia adore Forrest and climb all over him every time we spend time with him. He's such a interesting and fun person and it was such a great weekend to spend with him and new friends. Annalise and the girls were immediate friends and had a great time immediately!

Forrest really wanted to show Catherine, Frederic and Annalise the best of Texas, so he had a big weekend planned for them! Forrest is a world traveler who is excellent at figuring out the best things to do. He's also extremely outgoing and friendly and happy to approach strangers to ask questions and/or talk about anything. While they were here, he planned a trip to a typical small Texas town, visited a ranch that raised and trained rodeo bulls and made sure Frederic went flying with CK, which was one of his top goals while in Texas. Together, we visited Ft. Worth to watch the daily Longhorn drive down Main Street, visited several of the original boot shops and had a great lunch at Joe T. Garcia's. We also went to the rodeo at Billy Bob's, which we've never done before in all the years we've lived in Texas. We usually do the Ft. Worth Stock Show Rodeo every January, which is one of my favorite events. Billy Bob's rodeo was super fun and such an intimate setting for our out-of-town guests. All the kids did the sheep scrabble, which they loved, although none of them caught a sheep. It was fantastic! Annalise and the girls enjoyed some pool time together and loved playing together. It was such a great treat to have them visit for a long weekend and we hope they had so much fun that they decide to come back again!
