Bluebonnets

On Sunday afternoon, we finally headed over to the bluebonnets field in Grapevine to take photos. We drove by the field the previous Saturday and the field was full of bluebonnets and it was a perfect day for photos, however, due to Sofia's scooter accident her face wasn't really camera ready, so we waited another week to let her heal. Her new glasses hadn't arrived at the eye doctor's office yet so she was still in her glasses with the broken arm. As long as they sit straight on her face, you really don't notice they are broken from looking at her.

After Meeting on Sunday we went to lunch and then headed to the field. It started out as a cloudy day but turned into a sunny and very windy day. It's been very windy most of the spring, and it makes it difficult to take pictures! We parked along the road along with several other families already out in the field taking photos, and tried to pick the best place for photos. We found a good place, but had to have the girls face the sun due to the wind. Since it was so sunny, the girls had a hard time not squinting, so the pictures aren't as good as they could be. We did get a few good pictures of the girls together and then with each of us. Since we brought our step stool, we also were able to take a picture of all four of us that turned out pretty good too.

Although the fields are still full of flowers, most of them have seeded out so they don't have as many blue pedals as they do at their peek. But, they are still impressive and beautiful. This year's bluebonnets are really very impressive and it's always interesting to see how the bluebonnet season turns out due to the weather conditions in the early spring.

We took our pictures and the girls ran through the bluebonnet fields looking to pick other wildflowers. We ended up crossing to the other field, which actually has more bluebonnets, but also has the car dealers in the background and a lot of people taking photos. So, I had to take close-ups of the girls. After the close-ups, we loaded up in the car and headed home, glad to be out of the wind!
