The Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon after school we went to Hall's Pumpkin Patch around 5pm. Sofia's soccer coach told the soccer team to meet at the pumpkin patch for group photos and to enjoy some time together going through the corn maze, playing on the hay bales, and enjoying the many pumpkins. We decided to go an hour early so I could get photos of the girls in the patch. Thankfully it was a cooler day and was perfect for a pumpkin patch visit. Luckily, CK was able to come with us at the last minute, so the four of us parked in an incredibly crowded parking lot and headed to the pumpkins. It was hard to believe how crowded it was on a week night, but given the perfect weather it makes sense it is so crowded.

There were tons of people, especially cute little babies or kids dressed up ready for their pictures to be taken with the pumpkins, and it brought back a lot of great memories of when the girls were little. So cute! We found a good grouping of pumpkins and took pictures of the girls together and then took them of each of us with the girls. By the end they were absolutely done with having their photos taken! We let them run off and play on the hay bales while we waited for the rest of the Pink Pirates to arrive. Once the girls all arrived, they played together on the hay bales that are set up in front of the play structure. They had a great time together and it was fun to watch the girls hang out together, since they really haven't done so other than for soccer practice on Wednesday afternoon and games on Saturday mornings. Sofia has known more than half of them from years of being on the same team together or school, but we have many new girls and she has really enjoyed getting to know them too.

After a bit, we gathered them together on a pile of hay and pumpkins for a candid team photo. Unfortunately, Coach Jeff wasn't able to be there, so it just didn't seem like a "real" team photo without our leader! He's such a great coach and has so much fun with the girls. He's great at being tough and teaching them soccer but also joking and having fun with them regularly and he's just a great coach and man! Julie, his wife, was there so she coordinated the team. After that photo, we took another one against another backdrop and then it was off to the corn maze! I'm not a fan of feeling lost in a corn maze (or elsewhere), so I told the girls they could go without me. Sofia decided to go with Abby, Chloe, Emily and the new Emily. Olivia really wanted to go but wanted to have a "parent with her." Thankfully, CK decided to go with her and off they went! They did make it out eventually and had fun. We bought some caramel popcorn and waters and snacked on that with everyone.

After the corn maze, Sofia ran off to explore with her soccer friends while CK, Olivia and I walked around a little bit more. We caught up with Sofia, said our goodbyes to everyone and headed out to grab a bite of dinner. We all were craving a burger and decided to try Teddy's Bigger Burger for the first time since they opened years ago. Frankly it was surprisingly good and really hit the spot after a fun night out at the pumpkin patch! After dinner, we headed home to get to bed since it was a school night.
