Happy Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, the girls and CK were able to spend it with both Connie (Grandma and Mom) and Me (Mom). Just after waking up, and during our first cup of coffee, the girls and CK brought in their gifts. CK and Sofia took off yesterday afternoon after we returned from Colorado Springs to go shopping for gifts. We already had Connie covered with a 16" x 20" canvas print of the girls from their JC Penny photo shoot. We also went to one of her favorite stores, Pier 1, and picked out a new set of Indian-print place mats, lacy white napkins and silver napkin rings. It all looked great together and thought she would really like it. CK and the girls got me a cute card (written and signed by Sofia (and Olivia) and a new tennis skirt, top and visor. They also got me a tennis ball hopper, which I'm looking forward to teaching Sofia tennis with now that her arm is healed. They also brought a beautiful bouquet of roses for Connie and one for me!

For Brunch CK and the girls took us to Citrus Bistro, where we've been before for a date and thought the food was great. The restaurant was nearly full and the service and food was great. Olivia was very clingy and wanted me to hold her the entire meal, which made eating a little hard. She also didn't eat much food which isn't like her at all. Sofia enjoyed the mac n cheese they planned to split and after dessert, we headed home. Sofia and I took a nap together while CK read Olivia stories and put her in her crib for a nap and Connie relaxed.

After a very relaxing nap, the girls and I actually swam and the water felt good. It could have been a few degrees warmer, but was comfortable. Despite our efforts, Olivia wouldn't go down the slide even though she's been talking about it for weeks. CK picked up Thai food and cheesecake for dinner which was a perfect ending to a very fun and relaxing day.

Technically Sofia was supposed to wear her sling throughout Mother's Day, but after brunch we let her take it off since she seems completely healed. Today (Monday), I took Sofia back to her orthopedic for another x-ray and she is officially free to go about normal activities! She brought a rose from my flower arrangement and gave it to Dr. Brown, who was genuinely surprised and seemed very touched by Sofia's gift. After her appointment, we met Connie, CK and Olivia in the parking lot where we switched cars and gave Grandma final hugs and kisses before CK took her to the airport. Olivia and I took Sofia to school and dropped her off before going home. I then found that Olivia had a pretty serious fever, even though she acted her normal self.
