We celebrated Grandma's birthday a little early since we won't see her on her big day. Sofia helped open her presents and read her birthday cards before she headed off to sleep.

Sofia's first Halloween Party

On Saturday October 27th, we headed to a Halloween party hosted by a fellow MoTH (Moms on The Hill). Sofia went as a little lobster and I was a fisherwoman (although its a bit hard to tell by my 'costume'). Sofia was a good little lobster except her outfit was very slippery and I felt like she was going to slip through my fingers at any minute. The party was so tiring to her that she ended up sleeping most of the next day!

Girl's Night Out...

On Friday October 26th, Aunt Shirley had us gals over for a delicious dinner! We started with handmade shrimp wontons and enjoyed her dinner of pancetta-wrapped sea scallops and avocado-grapefruit salad - it was wonderful. Aunt Shirley also showed off her pictures of Sofia that she took on Thursday (Sofia hammed it up and Aunt Shirley took some amazing pictures). Here are some pictures from our girl's night out.....

Grandma Lee visits...

While CK is off to China and India for a 10-day work trip, Grandma Lee flew up to keep Sofia and I company (and let me get out of the house solo!!) Sofia has shown Grandma Lee her smile -and dimples - and we're all having a good time of it!

Remembering our trip home from the hospital

Well, 12 weeks ago we brought little Sofia home from the hospital. It seems so long ago, yet I still remember that drive home and wondering who exactly would be changing all of her diapers and bringing me yummy meals.....She slept through the trip and for the rest of that first day (and first few weeks really). I can't believe that on our first night CK and I discussed whether we should set the alarm every 2 hours to be sure we didn't miss her feedings...needless to say, we didn't have to use the alarm and she didn't miss a meal (she still doesn't!!). Anyway, here are some pictures from that day-

Sofia - 12 weeks

Here are pictures of Sofia today on her 12 week birthday! She's dressed like its summer because it is 82 degrees ouside and feels as if Fall will never arrive. She's smiling and 'talking' a lot now and is attempting to laugh, although so far she lets out high-pitched sqeaks instead of a full-fledged laugh, but she's close. She stares at her hands a lot and has figured out that they are attached to her, which has also meant that she's really enjoying her playmat's hanging toys and those hanging off her stroller and car seat. She's also quickly growing out of her 0-3 month clothes, but we just ordered a few cute 3-6 month outfits from Old Navy for cooler weather (if it ever drops below 80 degrees around here).

Just 12 weeks ago today....

Its hard to believe that 12 short weeks ago Sofia was born! It seems like yesterday and yet it also feels like she's always been in our lives. We're having so much fun with her and we're so lucky to watch her grow and develop. Below are some pictures from that day (of the hundreds that were taken!). Enjoy!

From the bassinet into the crib...

On Friday October 13th (Sofia's 11 week birthday), she moved from her bassinet into the crib in her room for the first time! She slept like a champ - going smoothly to sleep at 1030pm and waking for her first feeding at 445am! She slept until 5:45am the next night and until 5:30am this morning for her first feeding! At 8am, CK heard Sofia cooing and found her wide awake and all smiles. So, she's become quite the good sleeper and likes her new bed!
