I'd read about an outdoor exhibit of actual size dinosaurs replicas at the Heard Museum north of Dallas. I really wanted to take Sofia at some point and since yesterday was cloudy and cold out, CK wasn't able to fly so he agreed to stay home with Olivia so Sofia and I could go. The museum was a little hard to find, but we finally made it and after paying for admission, Sofia and I walked around the exhibits inside the museum before heading outside to see the dinosaurs. The museum has a beautiful open area behind it with trails through a wooded area. It was lovely, even though it was a bit chilly out. We headed on the route suggested by our map and came to our first dinosaur. As we approached it, it moved it's head and made noises! As we continued along the path, each dinosaur we came to moved and made noise, with one of them actually spraying water out of it's mouth. It was pretty impressive! Plus, there was hardly anyone there, so we really got to enjoy each dinosaur as well as the surroundings. Sofia loved it! She ran from dinosaur to dinosaur and read all about them. It was really fun.
After we saw the last dinosaur, we ended up at the little outdoor play village and Sofia had a ball running from house to house playing. After awhile, we continued on to see the various animals they have and then visited the butterfly garden before heading home. It was such a fun day out with Sofia and a great museum! We can't wait to go back for another visit!
