First Day of Fall Soccer!

Summer is hardly over and it is officially "Fall Soccer" season! Both girls had their first soccer games this morning with Sofia's Pink Pirates having a game at 9am and Olivia playing at 12:15pm. It was exciting to have Grandpa and Grandma here to watch the girls, as they were here to help Olivia celebrate her 6th birthday. On Saturday morning, I drove Sofia over to her field to warm-up while Connie, CK Sr., CK and Olivia walked over from the house. Sofia's Pink Pirates had a great game, especially considering last season when they could hardly score a goal. They won their first game and it felt great to cheer them on! During the game, Olivia had Grandma over at the playground and then convinced Grandpa to walk over to the snack stand with her to "look at what they had for sale." She came back with a ring pop, of course. Although it's late August and is usually in the 100s, it's unusually pleasant out due to the devastating Hurricane Harvey that is down in Houston. Somehow, we got great weather from that terrible storm.

After Sofia's game, we returned to the house where CK made biscuits, scrambled eggs and bacon. We sat outside and enjoyed the great weather and food before returning to the soccer field. Olivia's game was at 12:30pm and I was able to get a few photos of her before the game started. Just after kick-off it started to rain lightly, so I put my camera away. So, I unfortunately don't have any photos of Olivia during her game. It was a good game, although the girls were really distracted by the light rain. Olivia really enjoys soccer and is so fast she's great at catching her opponents and stripping the ball away. I hope it continues to be a fun sport for her and it's such a great group of girls and couch. After their game, we returned to the house to enjoy the rest of our weekend and to prepare for Olivia's birthday party!
