Cynthia and family were scheduled to arrive at DFW around 9:30pm on Thursday night but due to bad weather in Atlanta they didn't arrive until 4am Friday morning! CK stayed awake and picked them up at the airport since we didn't have any other options for getting the kids home since they all three need carseats. Thankfully we had use of Marco and Stacy's minivan since we weren't sure all the luggage would fit along with everyone in our car.
On Friday morning, Cindy and Jay slept in and their kids woke up a little later than normal and seemed to be in great spirits desire being exhausted! CK made biscuits, bacon and scrambled eggs and we enjoyed his excellent breakfast at the table outside, since the weather was nice although a bit cool. After breakfast, the kids played for a bit and then decided to swim! The water is still very cold and I can not imagine how they got into it, but they did. Jackson was the only hold-out to getting into the water which was probably a good thing. Chandler enjoyed skimming off all the leaves from the top of our pool and was very meticulous about it. After he was done, he joined Sofia, Olivia and Jillian in the pool. They had a ball and came up with all sorts of stories and games. Jillian and Olivia stuck together and played with each other the entire time and also decided to get out of the water together and "warm up" under a towel on the lounge chair. They love hanging out together and are best buddies when they are together. They get along so well and are so much like and adorable together. The kids swam for hours and had so much fun together.
After all that swimming, the kids were hungry so we made them sandwiches and chips which they ate up. After lunch, we got out the train set from Olivia's closet and the kids had fun setting it up and making up stories while they played together. After they tired of trains, we loaded them up and headed over to Urban Air where the kids jumped and bounced on the trampolines for an hour. Again, Olivia and Jillian stuck together while Sofia tried to jump and land on her bottom and then bounce back up to her feet over and over. Chandler ran around and jumped into the foam pit while Jackson had fun exploring the trampolines and bouncing.
After an hour, we headed out and met CK Sr., Jay and CK at Hart Eight in Roanoke for dinner. We decided an early dinner was best since Cindy wanted her kids to get to bed early given their very late night/early morning arrival. As always, dinner was delicious and we all left very full and headed to our cars. The kids remembered the last time we visited and then went to Hey Sugar for ice cream and were all begging to go back. We convinced them that we could go home and have ice cream or root beer floats instead, which they begrudgingly agreed to. Cynthia and Connie took ice cream orders from the kids and stopped at the grocery store on our way home and then we all had root beer floats and ice cream cones together at home. By the time we were done, it was already a little later than we expected so we put the kids to bed.
