In the days leading up to Christmas, we had spectacular weather! According to the forecast, the weather was due to get colder on Christmas so I tried to get the girls outside as much as possible. We spent several afternoons in a row playing at the newly finished playground in Southlake at Bicentennial Park. It is incredible and has just about anything a kid could possibly want to play on. The best part is that it's completely fenced with just one entrance/exit, so I would bring by book, tell the girls which bench I'd be relaxing on, and let the girls run around and play. At first, Sofia and Olivia made up a complex story about walking on the big dragon that is snaked though a section of the playground and they had fun trying not to fall down. On the first afternoon there, Sofia befriended a girl a few years older than her and they were fast friends. Her name was Kristen and her mom Michelle was really nice. Kristen also had a little brother, Ian, but he was never interested in playing with the girls. We exchanged names and numbers and ended up meeting at the park the next day, as well. We spent hours at the park and the girls really enjoyed it. Christmas Eve was supposed to be the last nice weather day, so CK took the girls to the park while I played tennis for the last time in 2015.
