Per our tradition, when we spend Thanksgiving with Aunt and Uncle we also celebrate Christmas a little early by opening our presents from each other. Years ago we started calling it "Thanksmas." After enjoying our visit with Santa and refueling on pizza, we passed out our gifts to each other. Of course, Sofia thought she should be able to open all of hers at once and was a little disappointed that we go around the room taking turns. On the second pass, Aunt and Uncle told her to open the "big" gift and she tore off the wrapping paper to find a HORSE BARN! She first said "Wow, Santa got it right!" I kept telling her it was from Aunt and Uncle but she was convinced it was really from Santa. She and Uncle Steve started setting it up immediately and she was soon playing with her barn in the guest room with the door closed so Olivia wouldn't "bother her."
We continued to open presents and had a great night appreciating such great gifts from each other. It was the perfect 'mini' Christmas!
