Sofia and Olivia's Piano Recital

We made it back from the zoo and the girls got changed and ready to perform their songs at their piano recital. Olivia had picked out "Part of Your World" and Sofia would be performing "Edelweiss." Both girls did a great job practicing, although Sofia really spends a lot of time practicing every day, sometimes twice a day. She really wants to know her piece inside and out and she memorizes the entire thing. Olivia would practice when I reminded her to do so, but wasn't quite as concerned about knowing her piece as well.

They got ready to perform and sat with Antonio and Hannah before it was time to go up on stage. For this year's performance, James was able to secure the use of a church in Grapevine for the recital. It was a perfect location and venue and the acoustics were great. Olivia went first and did a great job, although she said she was really nervous before she got started and felt like "butterflies were in her tummy" before she started playing her piece. She did a great job and didn't look nervous at all!

Sofia went toward the end because James' students go in order of complexity and Sofia is a more advanced student. She also did a great job and said she was a little nervous beforehand, but not much. Hannah, Antonio and Liam all did a great job too and it was so much fun listening to all the kids play their pieces. They all sounded great!

After the recital, James and his wife Nancy but on an excellent reception with food and drinks (and donuts). Of course the donuts were a huge hit! It was so great of them to do and the entire recital was great. Such a fun afternoon and I'm so proud of the girls and their friends!
