Yesterday we woke up early for a shower and to be ready to meet Sian at 8:30am. After we connected with Sian, we headed to California Adventure. It's so great to see Sian and I'm so excited we get to spend the day with her. She had a free ticket to Disney that Holland earned through choir and didn't plan on using. Once we arrived at California Adventure, it took us a little bit to figure out how to get her ticket activated, but the Disney service desk was super helpful and we were soon on our way. The first thing we did was schedule a Fast Pass for the Toy Story ride at 1pm and the Cars Ride at 2:30pm. Until our Fast Pass times, we rode the Little Mermaid (one of my favorites), then headed to ride on the Golden Zephyr, and the Jumping Jellyfish, which was Olivia's favorite. We ended up going on the Jumping Jellyfish ride a few times. After, we walked over and went to the Redwood Challenge Trail, where Olivia got to pet a "skunk." After we went in and she played on the challenge trail and did the zip line a few times. The Redwood Challenge Trail was one of Sofia's very favorite places when we visited last year. Olivia enjoyed it, but was ready to move on after a bit.
At noon, we headed over to watch the Elsa and Anna show, which was fantastic! It was so well done and it felt great to sit down for a while. At one point Elsa is standing on a high pinnacle singing and then disappears after a flash of light. It was actually pretty magical! We ate popcorn during the show to get a little bit of food in us. None of us were hungry but wanted a little something. Plus, I know Sian is a big believer in spending an entire day at Disney and trying to save as much money on food/drink as possible! We went for our Toy Store ride, which was fun and pretty cool. We then had to quickly head over to the Cars Ride, which Olivia was a little uncertain of when we arrived. Thankfully I convinced her to try it and we loaded into the back row of one of the cars and took of! It is such a fun ride and it is probably my favorite of the park. At the end of the ride, she said she loved it and it was her favorite!
From there, we headed to Luigi's Honkin' Haul-oween to "drive" the cars. It's actually a pretty fun ride and Olivia was laughing the entire time. After, we decided to get some ice cream and rest in the shade. It actually ended up being pretty hot, so it felt good to rest our legs nd cool off. Olivia was losing steam, so we needed everything we could use to convince her to keep going. We decided to head back over to the Jumping Jellyfish ride, which really is fun even though it is pretty simplistic. After, we walked over to ride on Soarin', which is another of my absolute favorites and I always think about how much CK would love that ride. Of course, Olivia absolutely loved it! It's just such a great ride and so inspiring!
We called Papa after Soarin' and Olivia loved telling him all about that ride and our entire day. She was tired but super excited to share her fun day with him. We walked over to the Monsters Inc. Good and Fun show which was a lot of fun then headed home. Luckily we just caught the shuttle, since we were all tired and hungry. We made it back around 7:30pm and ate dinner at our hotel restaurant, which I actually think has great food. We hung out with Sian for a bit and then said goodbye to Sian, who drove home from there unfortunately. We had such a fun day together! After, we headed to our room and went to sleep, ready for another fun day tomorrow!
