Dying Easter Eggs

I promised the girls we would dye Easter eggs on Saturday, after their soccer games in the morning. I'd hard boiled two containers of 18 large eggs so each of the girls could do their own container. They were so excited to dye eggs and I know the wait felt like forever. Both girls had soccer games that started at 9am at the Colleyville fields. Unfortunately, the Pink Pirates' opponent didn't show up which gave them their first win although it was by forfeit. Unfortunately, it's also likely their last game of the season too. Coach Jeff told the team this week that he likely will not be returning to coach since his daughter, Chloe, may play select soccer in the Fall. Sofia and I are really hopeful that he changes his mind or else it may be the end of the Pink Pirates. Sofia really wants to play soccer in the Fall and is really wanting to remain a Pink Pirate with Coach Jeff. Meanwhile, Olivia's team played well but they were all tentative. Due to rain this week, the Rockets didn't practice so maybe that's why they were all a little hesitant to go after the soccer ball. The other team was also very good. Of course, Olivia had a great time as always and although she didn't score a goal this game, she stopped a number of goals from the other team.

After the games, we had breakfast at Bacon's so we could buy a ham from Honey Baked Ham for tomorrow's lunch. After we ate, we returned home and set up our eggs and dye outside on the table. The girls couldn't wait! They were super excited to start dying eggs. I'd bought a egg dye pack that included the usual dye cups as well as paint and sponges that the girls really loved using to paint their eggs. There were also stickers, but neither of the girls ended up using them. Olivia stuck mainly with pinks and purple for her eggs while Sofia tended to dye her eggs blue and green. It was really cool to see what they decided to do and they all turned out to be really pretty.

After the eggs dried we put them in a glass bowl for the centerpiece of the dining room table. I love seeing them all together and I usually keep them on the table for a few days before throwing them out. After we cleaned up, I returned to getting ready to host Easter lunch tomorrow. The girls headed upstairs to play with their My Little Pony toys.
