On Monday, we drove to Glen Rose, TX to see preserved dinosaur tracks at Dinosaur Valley next to the Paluxy River. It was a beautiful day ("only" 90 degrees) and clear and we had a great hike through and around the river to see several areas of preserved tracks, which were really amazing! Also, since it was Monday we only ran into a few people and had the whole place to ourselves for the most part. After our hike we went into the town of Glen Rose, which is a typical Texas town with a court house in the middle of the town square and little shops and restaurants. We ate lunch at a little hole in the wall that was incredible - egg salad on thick homemade whole wheat bread and a green salad - delicious! After walking around the town and visiting a few shops, we drove home. First we went to Sofia's art class before returning home to open gifts! Then we left Sofia with our baby sitter and going to a wine bar/pizza restaurant which was also excellent!! All around it was a fantastic birthday!
Blowing out my candles with a little help from Sofia (notice she's eyeing that cake closely)!

After visiting a really cool store, The Junkyard Dog, in Glen Rose
Sofia gets a sip of water - she LOVES drinking from a drinking fountain. In fact, when we go to the gym she ends up soaked from 'drinking' from the drinking fountain in the kid's play area.

All set for our big night out!
