Our final full day in Santa Fe was our longest hike (7 miles). We decided to visit Ghost Town near Glorieta, a short drive from Santa Fe. Ghost Town was an old mining area and still includes two old abandoned cars, a tumbled down saw mill and what is labeled a "hotel" in the hiking book, which was a two story building that took in miners. The "hotel" was abandoned in the 1850s and broke apart in the 1940s. There are also a few abandoned mines in the area. It was an amazing hike along a stream surrounded by nature and without another person in sight! By the sixth mile, we were pretty tired (all except for Sofia, who had a nice nap in the backpack). Once we made it home, we relaxed before heading out to dinner and packing for the next day's departure.
